WHAT IF I TELL YOU...

Updated: May 13, 2021

any of our sauces scores a perfect 100 on versatility. Yes! many meals can be made using either the black or green sauce and either of them gives an incredible flavor and taste. Any of these sauces can serve as the base sauce for jollof from Ghana, Nigeria or Senegal, dipping sauce for fries and nachos, base for all kinds of pizzas, baste for chicken, steak and any kind of fish and even an incredible sauce for all kinds of pastas.

Since Jollof has been making the rave all over the world, it is only logic to share our version of jollof with you using either the black (Miss bougie) or green (Miss green) hot sauce. Trust me, the taste is out of this world! The amazing thing is, this recipe is much convenient and efficient compared to the original jollof recipe as the sauce being the base would have already been made available (Hot Sauce)

Ingredients

for 6 servings

  • 2 large yellow onions, roughly chopped

  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil, plus 2 tablespoons, divided

  • 2 ½ cups long grain rice, rinsed

  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetable

  • 1 medium sized tin of tomato puree

  • 1 ½ cups water

  • Salt

Preparation

  1. Add onions and 2 tablespoons of oil to your cooking pan

  2. Add tomato puree to oil

  3. Fry for 3 minutes and add 5 tablespoon of hot sauce (either black or green) and continue to fry for another 2 minutes over medium heat.

  4. Add the rice, mixed vegetables, salt to taste and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with foil and a lid. Simmer for another 30 minutes, until the rice is cooked through and the liquid is absorbed.

  5. Enjoy! with a side of either hot sauce and any protein or fried plantain.

DONT FORGET! "MISS BOUGIE" and "MISS GREEN" COME WITH RECIPE CARD IN THEIR VARIOUS BOXES.
